Hello,
Pentucket Workshop Preschool is a private not for
profit school serving the local community since 1972.
We serve students ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years of age.
Students must be 2 years 9 months by September 1, to attend school beginning in September 2025.
Children do not need to be toilet trained to attend preschool.
Please email or call for enrollment information.
We are proud of our place in the community and our continued education and support of young children and their families. Our philosophy remains the same after 50 years: we believe children learn through play experiences and developmentally appropriate activities. Preschool is where children learn to practice the skills they need to be life-long learners: processing thoughts, communicating, following directions, problem solving, organizing themselves independently, and enjoying the classroom.
The uniqueness of each child brings diversity and richness to our program. In a climate of acceptance and active exploration children develop their sense of self-worth and confidence, leading to developmental growth towards readiness skills, both mentally and physically. We believe this school environment thrives when families and educators work together.
One of the greatest contributions that the preschool experience makes to the total development of the child is to provide the opportunity for social contact with other children and the emotional maturing process that this contact encourages. Sharing, making decisions and learning to get along with others are some of the social skills that will be practiced. With each new skill mastered, the child begins to develop increased self-confidence and a realistic self-image. Each child learns she/he is a worthwhile, respected individual. Since all children are welcome in our program, your child will have the advantage of experiencing the similarities, differences, and unique contributions of all children.
We offer a multi age, open classroom which is structured for free exploration and play based activities, along with teacher directed activities. Our team teaching model brings a diversity of ideas and teacher experience to the classroom. Classes are led by a team of teachers; our ratios do not exceed 8:1.
We are in session from September to June.
Our teachers support the emotional and social growth of each child, focusing on expressing and identifying emotions, empathizing with others, friendships, and problem solving.
Activities focus on pre-literacy skills, the arts, science and mathematics, all in accordance with EEC guidelines.
In order to secure your child’s schedule, a completed Application/Registration form, along with the required fee is due ASAP. Once we confirm your child’s schedule we will let you know about the enrollment process, including paperwork requirements. In person visits are available; please call the office.
I hope your child will join us in our classroom doing what we do best: nurturing and supporting the education of young children and supporting their families.! Please let me know of any questions.
Best,
Maryellen Lawler
